  • What does impure water contain?

    • Physical Impurities
    • Bad Color and odor
    • Biological contamination viz., Bacteria & Virus
    • TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)
  • What are various filters used by BlueLife?

    • 5 micron polypropylene sediment filter cartridge
    • Silver impregnated granular activated pre-carbon filter cartridge
    • Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane
    • Silver impregnated fine-granular activated post-carbon filter cartridge
    • Ultra-violet sterilization
    • Ultra-filtration Membrane
  • What are the functions of various filter cartridges?

    • Sediment filter cartridge to trap physical impurities
    • Carbon filter cartridge to trap bad color, bad odor , chlorine and organic chemicals
    • RO Membrane consisting of 0.0001 micron pores; removes dissolved impurities (TDS) like Rust, Pesticides, Arsenic, Fluoride, Lead, Heavy Metals etc., and Viruses and Bacteria.
    • UV sterilization deactivates biological contamination
  • Why should we be away from plastics/ plastic storage containers for drinking water and food contact applications?

Micro-plastic leaches into drinking water cause for potential health disorders in human beingsd. Micro-plastics can potentially cause physical, chemical, and microbiological toxicity, leading to oxidative stress, cellular damage, inflammatory and immune responses, neurotoxic and even metabolic changes. Their wide range of sizes, shapes, polymer types, and complex surfaces (chemical, protein, and eco-corona) indicate that micro-plastics comprise a complex class of emerging contaminants with a broad range of toxicity profiles. Considered one of the final sinks for plastic waste, water bodies receive significant amounts of micro-plastics, likely endangering water quality and human health.
  • Why not BlueLife use TDS enhancer/ TDS adjuster?

The customer may compare with the TDS adjustment function that is there available in other products. We have the following explanation for not using the same in normal configuration of BlueLife water purifiers:

    1. TDS adjustment facility is given in view to be able to sell the machine where the raw water TDS is considerably low like below 300 PPM. In such cases this process facilitates to enhance the TDS level in the purified water by mixing the raw water/semi-treated water drop by drop with the purified water.

    2. Mostly, the TDS level is low where the case of mostly corporation supplied water, which is treated with Chlorine. But, as per the specifications of the RO membrane, RO membrane is chlorine sensitive and it is advised not to use the RO membrane with the chlorine treated water unless chlorine removal process is integrated in pre-treatment process.

    3. Mixing raw water or semi-treated water or mixing semi-treated chlorinated source water into permeates (RO purified water) to enhance TDS level is not advisable.

Hence BlueLife do not follow such system to use it and do not integrate TDS enhancer/ TDS adjuster in their purifiers by default.

  • How does the activated pre-carbon filter work?

Carbon molecules tend to attract other carbon molecules. Most health-effect contaminants pesticides and their by-products, VOCs, and THMs, for example contain carbon molecules. The pre-carbon filter traps carbon-based contaminants as water passes through the filter.
  • Can water damage the UV bulb?

No, the UV bulb is completely sealed in a quartz tube, not directly in contact with the water. The UV lamp glows only when water is flowing through the unit, so the treated water will not affect the water temperature.
  • Can ultraviolet light make the water radioactive?

Ultraviolet light is not radioactive; there is no possibility for the water to become radioactive.
  • Does the BlueLife purifier change the taste of water?

The taste of water depends on the TDS present in the water. RO based water purifiers reduce salts from source water and removes all types of contaminants, odor and chlorine etc. Therefore, you will enjoy the taste of the purified water.
  • How will I know when it's time to change the filter?

You'll know just by looking at the LED display on the unit come with Digital RO® in BlueLife water purifiers. There is an indicator shows ‘filter change alarm’, when it's time to change.
  • Is alkaline water safe? Is it beneficial?

The issue that many health professionals have with alkaline water isn’t its safety, but rather the health claims that are made about it. There isn’t enough scientific evidence to support the use of alkaline water as a treatment for any health condition.
Medical experts warn against believing all the marketing claims. Drinking natural alkaline water is generally considered safe, since it contains natural minerals.
However, you should use caution with artificial alkaline water, which likely contains fewer good minerals than its high pH would have you believe, and may contain contaminants. Also keep in mind, drinking too much alkaline water may leave you deficient in minerals.
  • Is chlorinated water safe to drink?

"Chlorine is the greatest crippler and killer of modern times. It is an insidious poison".
A Japanese research revealed that adding chlorinated drinking water to milk, fruit juices cooking food etc results in the formation of "MX" or Mutagen "X" formed by the reaction of chlorine with organic compounds present in the food materials, which is 100 per cent carcinogenic. Consumption of such foods can lead to irreversible mutations in the victims DNA leading to cancer.
Several studies also link chlorine and chlorinated by-products to a greater incidence of bladder, breast and bowel cancer as well as malignant melanoma. One study even links the use of chlorinated tap water to congenital cardiac anomalies.
  • Can I connect my BlueLife Water Purifier to my refrigerator's icemaker?

The model ‘BlueLife Concepto’, come with hydrostatic storage is suitable.
An optional Icemaker/Refrigerator Kit is available on specific request. This kit includes a pressure regulator and all the fittings you'll need to connect your Water Purifier to your refrigerator's icemaker/ water cooler. Determine the length of tubing you'll need before placing an order for this kit. To maintain warranty, all components must be installed properly, following the instructions shipped with the kit.
  • Will the carbon filter remove all contaminants?

No. Activated carbon readily adsorbs (causes to stick to its surface) organic carbon-based compounds, but it doesn't have an equivalent removal capacity for inorganic compounds such as iron, lime scale, nitrates, hardness minerals (such as calcium and magnesium), or soluble heavy metals like chromium or cadmium.
  • What does the UV lamp do?

Ultraviolet light is an effective way to treat water for microorganisms without the use of chemicals. The UV lamp produces light in a specific wavelength (UV-C) that is destructive to the RNA and DNA of microorganisms. The light has to be the right intensity and the water must be exposed to the light for a specific amount of time to properly dose the water.
  • How Reverse Osmosis Membrane Works?

RO is water purification process in which water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane to remove salts and other contaminants prevalent in source water.
A major portion of the world population depends on RO to avoid being susceptible to water borne diseases. While many water purifier manufacturers talk about purity, no one really addresses the issue of Hygiene.
  • Can I still continue to use the unit without changing the filter when I'm supposed to?

No, Filter life is based on the consumption, ability of the activated carbon to trap contaminants; if you leave the carbon cartridge unchanged when it has end of its life, it will not be able to trap contaminants efficiently.
  • Is Rain water safe for drinking?

Rainwater flushes airborne pollution from the skies, and then washes over the land before running into the rivers, to be completed aquifers, and lakes that supply our drinking water. Any and all chemicals generated due to pollution can and will find their way to enter into water bodies.
  • Is well water safe for drinking?

No, well water is not safe for drinking as it is, because it contains all the four kinds of impurities viz. physical impurities, bad color and odor, biological impurities and total dissolved solids.
  • Are bore water/ ground water safe for drinking?

No, bore water is not safe for drinking as it is, because it contains all the four kinds of impurities viz. physical impurities, bad color and odor, biological impurities and total dissolved solids.
